Scope and Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how QR Luck handles information when you use the QR Luck A Scan iOS app and when you visit this policy page. Please read it before using the app. If you do not agree with this Policy, do not use the app.
Information We Process
QR Luck processes only the information needed to provide and protect the app.
- Scanned code text. This includes the QR or barcode text detected by the app and submitted for a product lookup.
- Anonymous service data. The app creates a random installation identifier and sends it with the platform, app version, and time zone to establish an anonymous service session.
- Technical and contact information. Limited service and security logs may be processed. If you email us, we process the message and the contact information you choose to provide.
QR Luck does not require you to create an account to scan codes.
Camera, Photos and Scan Previews
Camera access is used only to recognize QR codes and barcodes. If you select a photo, the app analyzes it on your device and uses the first supported code it finds. QR Luck does not upload original camera frames or selected photos to its product service.
A scan preview may be stored in the app's private storage so it can appear with a scan result while the app data remains on your device.
How We Use Information
We use the information described above to provide code scanning and product lookup, remember language and sound preferences, troubleshoot problems, operate the service, and protect the app and its users from misuse.
Permissions
QR Luck requests Camera permission only when you choose to scan with the camera and Photos permission only when you choose to scan a selected image. These permissions are optional. You can deny or withdraw them at any time in iOS Settings; the related scanning option will then be unavailable until permission is granted again.
Product Lookup and Outbound Links
QR or barcode text is sent to QR Luck's service for product lookup. The app may offer links to Google, Open Food Facts, eBay, or Amazon. Those links open only when you choose them. The destination may receive the product code in its URL and handles that information under its own privacy policy; QR Luck does not control those destinations.
Advertising and Attribution
The current A Scan 1.0 release does not include advertising, attribution, or analytics SDKs. It does not collect advertising identifiers, track users across apps or websites, or show advertising.
Storage, Retention and Deletion
Language and feedback preferences, onboarding state, the random installation identifier, and scan previews are stored in app-private storage. They normally disappear when you delete the app or clear its app data.
Pseudonymous service data and security logs are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and protect the service or to meet legal obligations. You may request access to or deletion of information by contacting us.
Security
QR Luck uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect the information it processes. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your Privacy Choices
- You can deny or withdraw Camera and Photos permission in iOS Settings.
- You can delete the app or clear its app data to remove app-private data stored on your device.
- You can choose not to open outbound product links.
- You can email us to request access to or deletion of information we hold about you.
Children’s Privacy
QR Luck is not directed to children below the minimum age that applies in their jurisdiction. If a parent or guardian believes a child submitted personal information to us, they may contact us to request review or deletion.
Changes and Contact
We may update this Policy when our practices or legal requirements change. Material changes will appear on this page with an updated effective date. For privacy questions or requests, contact QR Luck at gan4658690@163.com.
